AURELIE BARRIAL

Integrative Nutrition Health Coach

I am French and I have been living in Atlanta, Georgia for 3 years. I grew up on the tropical Island La Reunion in the Indian Ocean. The Reunion Island has experienced several immigration waves from various parts of the world : Europe, Asia, India, Africa and Madagascar. Its gastronomy is incredibly rich, and has greatly influenced my family food culture.

As a child, food experimentation, a balanced diet, and waste-free cooking were the core values instilled by my culture. Today these values are still the pillars of my relationship with food and my well-being in general. Eating has never been limited to being a means to an end.

I believe that cooking should be a pleasurable experience, a way to connect with family members, a reminder of how connected to the rest of the world we are. Specifically, we should recognize those who grow and produce our sources of nutrition, those who pick and package it, those who transport it, those who sell it, and those who turn it into nourishing and delicious meal.

I have travelled around the world and lived in six countries before settling here in The Big Peach with my husband and our two sons. I worked in trade and Human Resources before getting into coaching for which I have developed a passion for the past 10 years. I am currently dedicating myself to this holistic approach to our relationship with food with joy and a sense of fulfillment. I have been a student of the amazing Institute for Integrative Nutrition (https://www.integrativenutrition.com) and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the founder Joshua Rosenthal as well as all of the admins and professors.

A special thank you to my husband and our sons for their support on my journey.
